Common questions
Will my debts sync to my other devices?
No — by design. My Snowball stores everything only on the device you're using, with no account and no cloud sync. To move your plan to another device, use Back up your data in the footer to save a file, then Restore from backup on the other device.
I deleted the app / cleared my browser data — can I get my plan back?
Only from a backup you made yourself. Since nothing is ever uploaded, there's no copy on our end to restore from. If you saved a backup file (footer → Back up your data), you can import it with Restore from backup. This is the tradeoff for full privacy — see the Privacy Policy for details.
What's the difference between snowball and avalanche?
Snowball pays your smallest balance first — quick wins that build momentum. Avalanche pays your highest interest rate first — mathematically the cheapest. My Snowball shows you both and tells you how much interest or time switching would save, so you can pick what fits you.
Is there a paid plan?
My Snowball is free to use — plan up to four debts, compare strategies, run the "reach a debt-free date" goal-seek, and use the "what if I paid extra?" slider at no cost. There's an optional Pro unlock: a one-time $9.99 purchase (not a subscription) that adds unlimited debts, PDF export of your full payoff plan, and the refinance & balance-transfer modeler — plus extras like intro-rate tracking, a goal photo, and your payoff story.
Checkout is handled securely by Stripe (via RevenueCat) — the processor only ever sees the email for your receipt and your payment method, never your debts or plan. Pro comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee: if it's not for you, email support@mysnowballapp.com within 30 days for a full refund. Once approved, your refund takes about 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.
On iPhone and iPad, checkout is handled by Apple through the App Store — we never see your card, name, or email. If Pro isn't for you, you can request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com; Apple reviews and processes it.
How do I get Pro back on a new device?
When you unlock Pro, you're given a one-time restore code (and a license card you can download or screenshot). Since there are no accounts, that code is how you re-unlock Pro in another browser — just keep it somewhere safe, along with your Stripe receipt email as proof of purchase. In the new browser, use Already bought Pro? Restore with a code in the footer. The iPhone and iPad app sells Pro separately through the App Store. Lost your code? Email support@mysnowballapp.com and we'll help.
On iPhone and iPad there's no code to keep track of — Pro comes back through Apple. Tap Restore Purchases in the app and it re-unlocks on any device signed in with your Apple Account; your Apple receipt is your proof of purchase.
Does My Snowball work offline?
Yes, once loaded. There's no server it depends on for day-to-day use — all the planning math runs on your device.
Request a refund
My Snowball Pro comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Email us and a real person reviews it — no forms, no runaround. Once approved, your refund goes back to your original payment method and takes about 5–10 business days to appear on your statement.
To help us find your purchase, please paste your restore code and the email on your Stripe receipt in the message.
Request a refundRefunds on iPhone & iPad are handled by Apple. Apple manages all App Store purchases, so refund requests go directly to Apple — it's quick, and Apple reviews and processes it.
